i'm connected

now that i'm back in cedar city, the big question on campus, of course, is "how was your break?" [or some close derivative] this means that i'm forced to recount my entire 10 days into a mere couple sentences. a couple days ago, my description would have been something like this:

person a: "hey taryn! how was your break? what'd you do?"
me: "sat in my bed and watched how i met your mother while getting fat on chinese food and dr. pepper. how was yours?"
person a: "oh it was awesome. i went to california and went to disneyland, went to the beach, got this golden tan, met john kraskinski and now we're engaged because he broke up with emily blunt."

but now that i have a more balanced perspective on what happened last week, this is more like what my answer has been:

person a: "hey taryn! how was your break? what'd you do?"
me: "oh it was fun! i went home and went to park city and bought these new vans, went to ikea with ryon, had dinner in provo with some old friends, went to the vampire weekend concert for free, watched a whole season of himym, froze my ass off at the suu vs. snow rugby game, and baked some awesome cookie dough cupcakes. thanks for asking!"


my week wasn't a total bust. i was just bored out of my mind the last couple days. i've got to say, the highlight was the vampire weekend concert. it was incredible. amazing. so much fun. and did i mention free?!? thanks to winston (who writes music columns for the online magazine consequence of sound), on my way back from provo, i got a call with the offer of a free ticket to the show. of course i said yes, so i called my friends (who were unknowingly about to get ditched...again, sorry ryon and kade!!) and drove the extra 20 minutes to in the venue for the show!! i've never seen vampire weekend before, but i'm going to see them at sasquatch this may so i figured i could get in a little pre-viewing before the festival. vampire weekend was out of control and put on such a fun show. i can't wait to see them in may. and check out winston's review of the concert here.



i'll be sure to keep a better attitude when speaking of this year's spring break because i have a few people to thank for it being fun (most of the time) and i'd hate for them to think that i'm a debbie downer who hates everything. so thanks andrea, winston, ryon, brooke, brooke's roommates, steve, papa brent and the rugby team for making this a fun and interesting break.

now back to school. ):
